Hi, everybody. Today we consider the procedure for replacing the display module on ASUS ZenFone MAX (ZC550KL). Brought me in for repairs with a broken touchscreen. I had to change the module, because there is glued Assembly (display+sensor+glass). Let’s start.
Remove the back cover, pull out the SIM card and flash drive. Unscrew the 12 screws.
Pry the frame and remove it.
We remove all the loops. Unscrew the 2 screws to which the motherboard is attached.
Before installing, throw up a new module and check. Check the display and sensor. If everything is fine, you can remove the old module. Warm up the display at a temperature of 70 degrees and begin to pry the old display with a spatula.
After removing the old display, clear the adhesive tape frame and degrease it.
Then apply a new double-sided 3M tape. For fortress I mentor’m using glue B5000. install the new module and press it with clothespins. Wait 30-40 minutes. Remove the holders and check the performance of the smartphone.
